The Fallout franchise is one of the most popular post-apocalyptic settings and with a new Amazon TV adaptation due out in April, the series is on our collective radar. Fallout joins the multiverse of Magic the Gathering, featuring four new Commander decks originally announced in August. Polygon brings you an exclusive look at one of the first complete decklists as well as new card reveals.

Mister Gutsy, a multi-armed robot next to an explosion, as a Magic: the Gathering card. The card's description reads: Whenever you cast an Aura or Equip spell, put a +1/+1 counter on Mister Gutsy. When Mister Gutsy dies, create X Scrap Tokens, where X is the number of +1/+1 counters on it.

Cass, Hand of Vengeance, a Magic: the Gathering card categorized as a legendary creature - Human Ranger. “Whenever Cass or another creature you control dies while enchanted or equipped, return any number of Aura cards attached to it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to target creature, then hang any number of equipment that was attached to that creature.”

The Scrappy survivors The decklist seems to be built around having a few cheap creatures that can be boosted with powerful auras and enchantments. The Fallout franchise is all about the fusion of old-world technology and post-apocalyptic ingenuity. For every guy in full power armor, there are a dozen raiders wearing stuff they found in junkyards and dumpsters.

The Scrappy survivors The deck may seem like a pushover at first glance, but once the player gains some momentum, they can take cards like Mister Gutsy, a new legendary artifact creature, and score some big successes. There are also a few heavyweights like Cass, Hand of Vengeance, whose ability to recycle the auras and equipment of dead creatures works thematically And powerful. Cass is best known for her role as a companion in Fallout: New Vegasand it’s good to see them in action again.

Mantle of the Elders – A Magic: the Gathering card. The description reads: “When Mantle of the Ancients enters play, return to play any number of Aura and/or Equipment cards of your choice that could be attached to an enchanted creature from your graveyard, attached to the enchanted creature is created. Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 for each Aura and Equipment attached to it.”

The Pip-Boy 3000, an iconic piece of Fallout gear, has been converted into a Magic: the Gathering card for the upcoming Scrappy Survivors crossover deck.

There couldn’t be one Scrappy survivors Deck without using some junk. Wizards made a smart move by repurposing what was noted Cloak of the Elders Aura (which first appeared in the 2022 Dungeons & Dragons themed set, Adventures in the Forgotten Realms) into a variation of the classic Vault suit. But it’s not fair any Vault suit. This is the Holy Vault Suit, the same ripped and tattered outfit that the original character wore from the 1997s Stand out and again, this time from The Wanderer, in Fallout 2.

Additionally, this set of cards features the three-letter PIP naming convention to set it apart from all other cards magic In the previously released sets, Wizards also gave the legendary Pip-Boy some love. While the original Pip-Boy was first introduced in 2000 Stand outThis map features Bethesda’s own Pip-Boy 3000, which serves as the menu system and user interface in the modern incarnation of the Maryland-based company’s video game franchise.

Vault 21: House Gambit, a Magic: the Gathering card from the upcoming Scrappy Survivors Fallout crossover set.

Perhaps the most interesting map in the preview is Vault 21: House Gambit. Vault 21 is another location from NewVegas, a former Vault Tec survival bunker converted into a hotel and gift shop. Part of Mr. House’s vast empire built along the New Vegas Strip, it is the premier rest stop for tourists looking to relax between rounds of gambling.

Fittingly, there is a type of gambling associated with the house gambit. The player discards a card, draws a card, and then reveals up to five nonland cards from their hand. They can then create a treasure token for each of these cards that has the same mana value as another card revealed this way. This is a trick that could absolutely backfire if the mana values don’t match – but when things match, they do Scrappy survivors The player could walk away with a big score.

Between Cass and the House of Representatives references Scrappy survivors Deck seems to be heavily focused on this NewVegas, one of the most interesting Fallout titles. The Mojave Wasteland is contested by the NCR, Caesar’s Legion, Mr. House and the independent peoples of New Vegas. Some people in New Vegas enjoy the riches brought by Caesar’s conquest or Mr. House’s utopia, but others remain in the dark. Sometimes the citizens of the Strip can bet on a hand and come away loaded with riches – and sometimes the game is rigged from the start.

The Scrappy survivors The deck is full of references and homages to the other Fallout games in the series, including Preston Garvey from Fallout 4 And Fallout 76‘s Duchess, owner of the Wayward Bar. There are also three other decks: Science!, Hail, CaesarAnd Mutant threat. Expect to hear more about these decklists soon.
