Superhero fans may not be surprised to learn that Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson, isn’t doing very well at the box office. The story of the paramedic with superpowers has become the source of many Internet memes.
The main character of Sony’s new film is Cassandra Webb, who, after a tragic accident, begins to experience strange events and discover her strange abilities. Soon, a spider-like assassin, Ezekiel Sims, begins stalking her. To defeat him, Cassandra must team up with three seemingly ordinary girls.
Many people may have been discouraged by the not-so-good reviews and decided to wait for the digital release of Madame Web. If you’re one of them, we’ve gathered all the information you need to watch the movie from the comfort of your home.

When could Madame Web be released on VOD?
Madame Web was released on February 14, 2024 and, for the moment, is only visible in theaters.
The film’s digital release date has not been set at the time of writing. Other Sony superhero films like Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius landed on VOD platforms around two months after their cinematic releases.
We therefore anticipate that Madame Web will be available for purchase or borrowing in mid-April 2024.
When could Madame Web be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
The film will likely appear on DVD and Blu-Ray shortly after its VOD release. However, Sony has not provided any information regarding this.
Given the release dates of the Venom and Morbius films, we expect physical copies of Madame Web to be available around a month after its VOD release, perhaps in May 2024.

When could Madame Web be released on streaming services?
A release date for the film on streaming services has not yet been announced.
Madame Web was created by Sony, which does not have its own dedicated streaming platform. However, the company has an agreement with Netflix and, most likely, the film will debut on this platform.
Morbius took five months to land on Netflix after being released in theaters. If Madame Web follows a similar pattern, it should be available for streaming around July 2024.
It should be noted that Madame Web is not part of the MCU. Sony’s superhero films form a universe of their own, even if they are based on Marvel comics. According to the agreement between the two companies, Sony films on Disney+ will be released 18 months after their theatrical release.
This means that a movie starring Dakota Johnson on Disney+ might not appear until summer 2025.
