How to Make a Lego Fortnite Fishing Rod

Fishing and fishing rod have been added to LEGO Fortnite as part of its big Gone Fishin’ update in February 2024.

You can now craft fishing rods of multiple qualities to cast a line and get a variety of small fish to cook with, or display legendary fish as trophies in a later update.

How to Make a Lego Fortnite Fishing Rod

If you are at the beginning of your Lego adventure, then it will be easier to make the rarest fishing rod, the common fishing rod. Below we have details on how to unlock all types of canes, but for now, for unlock a common fishing rod you must first :

1. Build a crafting bench at level 1.
2. Add Cord to your inventory.

If you are playing in a world created before the Gone Fishin’ update, please note that you must add Cord to your inventory again to unlock the Uncommon Fishing Rod recipe, even if you have already unlocked and added Cord previously.

Once you have fulfilled these conditions, you will then be able to make a fishing rod out of Lego Fortnite with:

• 1 wooden rod
• 1 wolf claw
• 2 cords

If you haven’t obtained Cord yet, you must first build a spinning wheel, which requires:

• 8 boards
• 5 wooden rods
• 5 Wood
• 5 wolf claws

Once you’ve made a spinning wheel, simply go find some vines (you’ll need 10 for a fishing rod), then process them at the wheel to make cord. As long as you have the other ingredients, you can now craft a basic fishing rod at a crafting bench!

Your fishing rods can be used on any body of water to catch a variety of fish, depending on the weather, time of day, and the biome you are in. However, to make fishing easier, you can also craft bait buckets and throw bait into the water to create fishing spots.

Additionally, you are more likely to catch a fish using a higher rarity fishing rod, which is essential when trying to successfully catch rare or even legendary fish!

How to make all fishing rods in Lego Fortnite

If you want to catch all different types of fish, including legendary fish, you will need to craft higher rarity fishing rods.

Remember, if you are playing in a world created before the Gone Fishin’ update, please note that you need to re-add the gear listed below (e.g. common fishing rod lanyard) to your inventory to unlock the fishing rod recipe, even if you have already unlocked and added this gear to your inventory before.
