Two months have passed in 2024, and we finally take another look at the long-awaited A44 Flintlock: Siege of Dawn, “Souls”, an action role-playing game inspired by “God of War”. Sure, Flintlock is the follow-up to our favorite Souls game from the studio, Ashen, but it’s an entirely different beast.
The game has been in development for years, and while it was originally expected to release sometime last year, it was significantly delayed to 2024 last summer. That’s why we’re excited to see it wake up from its slumber and show us more.

This new look comes in the form of a brief gameplay trailer, which will lead to a larger reveal in March. The above reveal will be an extended gameplay demo, which we’re also hoping will arrive to coincide with the release date.
Fusilier: Siege of Dawn is still filming a trailer for a summer 2024 release, so we’re close enough to the final release date. Until then, we can enjoy today’s trailer. The footage consists almost entirely of combat gameplay.
We’ve made an update to the game’s scoring system and how it ties into stylish real-time action. This might not be the punishing action RPG you’d expect from A44, but there’s still a core level of challenge on display here. Enki is the little animal beside the protagonist Nor Vanek and plays an important role in the battle. We even see hints of narrative as its soothing voice comments on what the two encounter.
Halfway through the video, we reach a campfire-like checkpoint, and then the trailer cuts to the different character builds players switch to in order to face the boss.
The game has definitely gone through a lot of polish since we last saw it, which is always a good sign. Flintlock is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. This is also the day one version of Game Pass.
