One of the biggest concerns in recent weeks is the alarming growth of coronaviruses worldwide. Last month we saw how the Mobile World Congress was canceled, and this was just the beginning of a long list of events that took place. Google I / O is also canceled, of course.
Another milestone for Android is Google I / O, where the big G brings out all the most important Android news for developers, news that marks the future of the platform. Google has already canceled the event, stating it will celebrate it online
The biggest Android event of the year has been canceled – Google I / O will not be hosted by coronavirusGoogle I / O is one of the appointments that you will not miss if you are an Android lover. This year will not be celebrated, and the cause is a coronavirus.
Google I / O is permanently canceled
A few days ago, Google confirmed that its annual developer justice will not be conducted based on concerns about the coronavirus. At the time, Google revealed that they will be exploring other ways to host the event in the coming weeks.
This message revealed that Google was planning to celebrate the event with online streaming (and after all, most of us who follow us, will remain the same, because this is how we enjoyed it). But it seems that in the end it won't be the same, as described on Twitter.
#GoogleIO Update: With concerns about the health and safety of our developers, workers and local communities – and in line with the "shelter" requirements by the Bay Area local government – sadly we won't be running an I / O event in any capacity this year. (1/3)
– Google Developers (@googledevs) March 20, 2020
Due to our concern for the health and safety of our developers, workers and local communities, and in line with the required "home-based government" line, we will not be hosting an I / O event this year.
Currently, the most important thing we can do is to focus more on helping people with the challenges we face. We will continue to do everything possible to help our communities be safe, informed and connected.
Please note that we are willing to share Android updates with you on public blogs and forums.
Google I / O's entry for 2020 is definitely canceled: it won't be done on the stream, it first appears on The Free Android.
