Stellar Blade is highly anticipated and will be released exclusively on PS5 on April 26th and can continue to be discovered through new gameplay excerpts.
In addition to the first State of Play of the year, Stellar Blade’s gameplay was highlighted through various excerpts shared on social media. And suffice it to say, South Korean studio Shift Up has produced work that makes our mouths water! Fans of Devil May Cry or NieR Automata will definitely appreciate it.
Stellar Blade’s highly acrobatic gameplay is on full display
It’s now been five years since we were first introduced to the PS5 exclusive Stellar Blade. Back then it was called Project EVE, the title fascinates with its extremely agile female protagonist in an ultra-futuristic universe. On X (formerly Twitter) the user Okami13 has released new excerpts that highlight a combat system that promises to be as spectacular as it is technical.
This should indeed give a high priority to achieving complex combos in order to achieve a very satisfying result with the controller in hand and on the screen. We can say that Eva is a true dancer of death. In this sense, it offers a magnificent ballet of blades and attacks, each as acrobatic as the next. However, close combat is not her bow’s only strength, as she also has ranged attacks. Fans of long-range combat are served with weapons ranging from pistols to laser cannons that burn our retinas.
Like a touch of Devil May Cry/NieR Automata to Stellar Blade’s gameplay?
We talked to you about the first State of Play of 2024 and it finally told us more about the Stellar Blade universe. A universe reminiscent of that of NieR Automata. Humanity must flee Earth and relies on a few elite fighters to defeat an alien threat. The connection to this masterpiece from Square Enix and Platinum Games obviously doesn’t end there. Eve’s agility and strength also remind us a lot of 2Bs. We even take inspiration from Bayonetta or even Dante from Devil May Cry.
All this to say that the gameplay of the PS5 exclusive game Stellar Blade has apparently been the subject of a lot of attention from Korean studio Shift Up (the same goes for Eve, the main character, but that’s another story… ). The latest gameplay clips only tell us one thing: the game promises to be Dantesque!
