Retro Studios has been working on Metroid Prime 4 for several years now, and the fruits of their labor may be arriving sooner than expected. A few weeks ago we heard that journalist Jeff Grubb said that he had heard from one of his sources that the latest game in the Metroid Prime series was planned for launch this year. Fast forward to today and Retro Studios has started advertising for a Product Tester to help them debug. Here’s a description of what they’re looking for:
DUTIES DESCRIPTION:
- Develop and execute test plans to validate developer requirements and detect defects in previously released software.
- Generate detailed daily defect reports for development staff.
- Conducts compliance testing to ensure software meets regulatory and/or performance standards or requirements.
- Tests software for reliability, consistency, absence of product defects, and compliance.
- Tests and verifies corrected defects to ensure quality control.
- Works closely with Retro Production and development staff to debug.
- Ensures proper defect tracking.
- Help in testing home development tools.
- Tests drivers for various software updates.
- Support development staff by testing features/tricks.
- Performs routine tasks and procedures.
- It works in the context of defined procedures.
- Receives work in the form of short-term assignments with processed drafts.
