hope you can play Super Mario 64, but are you tired of the same old levels? You may be looking for a fan-made mod that randomly generates levels.
Super Mario 64 isn’t a forever game, as it occasionally suffers from clunky controls and funky level design, but I imagine it’s a game that a lot of people will play forever. It was the blueprint for many 3D games, it was Nintendo’s first 3D game, and the gaming industry wouldn’t be the same without it. However, unless you like repetition, you might find yourself getting a little bored playing the same old levels. Lucky for you, a developer named Twilight has made a randomly generated level mod for the classic platform, giving you the chance to play Super Mario 64 forever (thanks GamesRadar).

You can check out the mod above, aptly titled Infinite Mario 64, which shows off some different randomly generated levels. Right off the bat, you’ll notice that they’re all a bit rudimentary – they’re mostly just basic shapes and ramps with coins and exclamation mark blocks scattered around them. As always, the main goal is to complete the level and get a star, because what kind of level would it be without shiny, potentially sentient stars (they do have eyes, after all)?

Simple or not, this is a cool-looking project, especially if you want to test your Mario 64 skills. Honestly, this seems like a pretty good shout-out to anyone who’s been patiently (or perhaps impatiently) waiting for the follow-up to 2017’s Super Mario Odyssey. After all, the release of the Switch 2 is probably still at least a year away, and who knows when the new 3D Mario will be released.
