You have to have Tifa as your highest relationship level with Cloud during chapters 8 and 12 to romance Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This ensures that you will be able to experience a mini date and a more expansive date during both visits to Gold Saucer.
There are many different ways to raise your relationship level with Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthincluding:
- Choose the best dialogue options.
- Complete all of Tifa’s side quests.
- Unlock and use all abilities and synergy skills between Cloud and Tifa.
- Achieve an exceptional performance in the Junon Parade.
- Pair Cloud’s swimsuit style with Tifa’s on the Costa del Sol.
- Choose Tifa when invited to the beach on the Costa del Sol.
It’s almost as important as raising Tifa’s relationship level avoid improving the relationships of other characters too much before chapters 8 and 12. If you don’t do this, you run the risk of taking another character on the Gold Saucer dates in Tifa’s place. This means you may want to avoid doing any side quests until later and deliberately choose the “wrong” dialogue options when speaking with anyone other than Tifa.
Your goal should be for Tifa’s relationship bar to turn blue and have her surrounded by more rings than anyone else. If you have another character with a relationship of the same color and number of rings, the person you are closest to deepening your relationship with will be the one Cloud goes on a date with.

There are six important conversations you have with Tifa throughout the game that can help you romance her if you choose the right option. Choosing the neutral option can also slightly improve your relationship with Tifa, but there is always one choice that helps the most.
Here’s all the best dialogue choices to make if you want to have sex with Tifa in Final Fantasy 7:
Dialogue choice Tifa in Kalm
Your first choice of romantic dialogue Tifa occurs in Kalm during Chapter 2, right after speaking with Red XIII and getting an explanation of the relationship. She asks if the tank above reminds you of anything, and Tifa’s best dialogue choice in Kalm is: ‘The place where I made this promise to you‘.
Dialogue choice Tifa to Juno
The next conversation with Tifa takes place at the Under Junon Inn in Chapter 4, after fighting the Terror of the Deep boss. She asks if you remember a guy called Emilio, and Tifa’s best dialogue choice in Juno is: ‘The only person from the village I remember is you‘.
Choice of dialogue Tifa on the Costa del Sol
The next important discussion takes place right at the start of Chapter 7, after the Gastropod mini-boss fight. Go talk to Tifa at the bar, who says it’s been ages since Seventh Heaven. The best Tifa dialogue choice on the Costa del Sol is: ‘A lot has happened since then‘.

The final conversation choice with Tifa occurs in Nibelheim during Chapter 11. Go up the stairs to Tifa’s old house and you will find her in the piano room. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Tifa Swimsuit Choice
During Chapter 6 in Costa del Sol, you participate in a variety of mini-games to earn special currency to purchase different swimsuit outfits. You can purchase both options to have Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith wear them while exploring the Costa del Sol and parts of Corel later, but you must Match Tifa’s outfit to Cloud the first time you put on a swimsuit to strengthen Tifa’s relationship.
You also need to make sure that Aerith is not a match for Cloud if you don’t want to strengthen your relationship with her. For example, if Cloud is wearing his revealing outfit, dress Tifa in her revealing swimsuit and Aerith in her more covered swimsuit.

The first mini date with Tifa takes place during Chapter 8 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, at the Gold Saucer. Without spoiling anything, as long as your relationship with Tifa is the highest of your evening, she will knock on your bedroom door at some point during Chapter 8 and a little date will begin.
However, the full date with Tifa doesn’t happen at the Gold Saucer until Chapter 12.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Tifa Gold Saucer date 2
The full meeting with Tifa at the Gold Saucer takes place during Chapter 12 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Again, we won’t spoil anything major, but you’ll know you’re about to embark on your date with Tifa when she knocks on Cloud’s bedroom door again.
If it’s not Tifa you see when Cloud opens the door, then you’ll go out with that person (or dog…) instead. If this happens, don’t worry too much, because you can repeat the Gold Saucer date with anyone you want after completing the game once, by accessing the new additional settings in the menu.
