We know the legacy that Steve Jobs left, and we know that his widow, Laurene Powell, continues to work to build on that legacy and strive to leave her own mark on the world. But does this carry over to the descendants of Apple’s co-founder? Jobs had four children throughout his life, no less. And, as we have already said on occasion, Jobs’ youngest daughter, Eve Jobs You will not see a single cent of this inheritance.
I am not going to personally investigate why they had these children and the circumstances in which they did so, but we can see what paths they took because of what has been learned over the years and through the press. Let’s see.
Lisa Brennan-Jobs, journalist and media editor
Steve Jobs’ first daughter was Lisa Jobs, Lisa Brennan-Jobs to be exact. And yes, the name of one of his first computers comes from this name. Laurene Powell was not the mother, Lisa is the daughter of Chrisann Brenann. In 1996, he began studying at Harvard University, a career he completed in 2000 by enrolling at King’s College London.
Lisa found a job editor in major media like Vogue or The Southwest Review, and has also collaborated on media for people like Oprah Winfrey.
He also had a personal blog (you can view it from Web Archive) and wrote a personal memoir called “Small Fry” in which he recounts what he had to do with his father before and after his reconciliation with him. Jobs didn’t help Lisa’s childhood, which wasn’t exactly easy: she went so far as to say that she “felt devastated” that Steve wasn’t paying attention to her during that time.
You can find these souvenirs on Amazon, for around 11 dollars, but only in English. Today, Lisa is 46 years old and continues to work as a journalist and writer in some specialized media.
Reed Jobs, director of the Emerson Collective
Jobs at Reed He was the former Apple CEO’s second child and the first he had with Laurene. Born in 1991, he graduated cum laude from Stanford University and later earned a master’s degree from the same institution.
As soon as he finished his studies, he went to work for the Emerson Collective, founded by his mother, where he worked as a director at the age of 33. From there, it strives to provide equal conditions and opportunities to groups disadvantaged for social and/or historical reasons.
Erin Siena Jobs, the unknown
Erin was born in 1995 and, as Walter Isaacson writes in Steve Jobs’ biography, “she’s more sensitive than her father.” She is, according to People, the most reserved descendant and the one who kept her life the most secret. It is not known what he studied or what he is currently doing. Her younger sister Eve has the photo which you can see in the Instagram post above.
We can only retrieve his statements from his father’s biography, in which we read that he would have liked his father to pay him more attention, but at the same time he understands that his work kept him very busy. One of the last times he was seen, he was accompanied by his brother, walking in Como (Italy), in May 2023.
Eve Jobs, model and equestrian champion
Eve is the youngest daughter of Steve and Laurene, born in 1998. She is named after Eve, the first woman to commit original sin according to the Bible. During his youth, he studied horsemanship at the Upper Echelon Academy, where he graduated be part of the list of the 1,000 best riders under 25 from everyone. He almost made it to the Tokyo Olympics, but the pandemic forced the cancellation of those plans.
After that, Eve launched into the fashion world after telling you “Why not?” herself and began her modeling work in 2020. She hasn’t done badly: she has done campaigns for Louis Vuitton and appeared on the cover of the Japanese edition of Vogue magazine.
Currently works with the DNA Model Management agency, where she entered in March 2022, and participated in iconic events like the Met Gala a few years ago. Last year, he satirized the iPhone 14 launch with the even from the man in the plaid shirt, criticizing that it was very similar to the iPhone 13:

Eve has an Instagram account, although she doesn’t usually post anything Apple related. Her photographs focus on glimpses of her personal life and modeling work, and in some interviews she is referred to as the person most like Steve Jobs. Among other things, it indicates that it is “a little weird”, and that it can “surprise people”, who end up “not knowing what to think about it”. From now on, his objectives are very close to those of his predecessor: “finding a way to have the best possible impact on the greatest number of people possible”.
Press, fashion, manager… it’s curious that none of Steve Jobs’ descendants have inherited the passion he had for technology, but ultimately everyone is free to pursue their passions. And that they managed to lead a fulfilling professional life thanks to their parents’ legacy is the best thing that could have happened to them.
