It has been widely hinted, almost shouted to the heavens in fact, that Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will be themed around ancient Greek mythology. This includes a giant hand emerging from the depths of the island and teasers of ancient Greek gods on the official website. FortniteX (officially Twitter).
Below you will find the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Estimated Release Time and Datewith everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.
Everything We Know About Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
It has been confirmed (even though we all already knew it) that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, titled Myths and Mortals, is themed around Ancient Greece and its mythology.
While waiting for the release of the new season, take a look at the launch trailer…
More recently, on Tuesday March 5, the manager FortniteX (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter) posted a photo of a mysterious figure wielding a chain that ends in what looks like a snake skull. The identity of this character is currently unknown, but, based on the green tone, it could be Hades. We also don’t know if this will be an upcoming battle pass skin or not.

This image was preceded by an image of Zeus – king of the gods, as well as sky and thunder, in Greek mythology – on Monday March 4. It remains to be seen whether he will be one of the new skins, an NPC or perhaps even a boss…

It would be cool if we got an Artemis or Athena skin.
Most notable “Greek mythology is coming!” » One clue, however, was the giant hand emerging from the ground near the Ruined Reels location on Fortnite Island over the past weekend. (Ruined Reels is literally a set of ancient Greek ruins, complete with fish stick statues.)
A chest was suspended from this hand and chained. It didn’t stay closed for long, however, as the Fortnite community quickly set about smashing the chains into pieces with their harvesting tools to reveal what treasures might be hidden inside…
However, chests did not always contain treasure in Greek mythology, and when opened, the box released a column of flame. There is now only one notable chest in Greek mythology, and when the flames are taken into account, it is not difficult to assume that this chest is in fact Pandora’s Box.
I don’t often (if at all) use my knowledge of ancient Greek or civilization mythology when writing about video games, so I hope you’ll excuse me while I take a stab at it. little. Regular Fortnite content will return shortly.
Pandora was said to be the first human woman to be created and this was done by Hephaestus on the instructions of Zeus. She was then given to Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus (who stole fire for humanity and, in return, had his liver eaten by an eagle every day until he was saved by Heracles), and brought with her a pot.
Yes, in the original retellings of the myth, Pandora’s Box is actually Pandora’s Jar. This change is probably due to a translation error by Erasmus in the 16th century who changed “pithos” (ancient Greek meaning large storage pot) to “pyxis” (roughly meaning container). Back to Pandora.
Like anyone who receives something they are asked not to open, Pandora immediately opened that jar (or box if you must) and released all manner of evil onto the world. Only one being remained in the pot: Elpis, the spirit of hope. Before Elpis could consider escaping, Pandora placed the lid firmly back on the pot. Is hope trapped in the jar, kept away from the world, or kept safe inside? Well, it’s up to you…
The point is: a huge pillar of flames coming from a chain-bound chest before a season of ancient Greek mythology? Probably bad news.
The box opened…

Alongside the giant hand, Fortnite also saw the arrival of Odyssey and its Mosaic Snapshot quests. The Odyssey is obviously a reference to Homer’s The Odyssey – an epic poem about Odysseus’ long journey home from the Trojan War. You can find Odyssey wandering around Ruined Reels and we wouldn’t be surprised if she continues hanging around the island after Chapter 5 Season 2 launches.
Finally, Mark Rein, Vice President and Co-Founder of Epic Games, gave his traditional one-word clue for the upcoming season: Wings.

Whether this means you’ll be able to ride flying animals like Pegasus, get wings that allow your characters to fly, fight creatures like harpies, or trade in your hard-earned V-Bucks for wing-themed cosmetics remains to be seen. . . We should know very soon…
I hope you are looking forward to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2!
