Within the roster of new series, it seems that Apple is daring everything. Since historical realism with a touch of humor in “Benjamin Franklin” or “New Look” — based on the relationship between two big names such as Christian Dior Coco Chanel, played respectively by Ben Mendelsohn and Oscar-winning actress Juliette Binoche — even with the most scientific science fiction, with this “Constellation” which has positioned itself among the most viewed series on the platform.
Because “Constellation” is much more than it seems. And its success has allowed it to be number 1 on the platform in many regions, but not in USA. We define it as Apple TV+’s “Insterstellar” for a reason: it’s ambitious, complex and very human. Created and written by Peter Harness (“Wallander,” “Doctor Who”)), this eight-episode series is almost complete to watch in one sitting and has apparently broken a few records along the way.

Unlike other science fiction series, “Constellation” stands out for its attention to detail, in aspects that others would consider irrelevant. For example, much of the fiction inspired by the International Space Station only features American and occasionally German astronauts. “Constellation”, however, focuses on a Swedish protagonist – who speaks in her native language – and who maintains good collaborative relations with his colleagues in other countries, including Russia. It is not for nothing that the protagonist does not work for NASA, but for the European Space Agency.
There is fiction, but not in the almost magical way of “Foundation.” Because above all there is a lot of science. Although almost all of them are part of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, throughout the series we talk about quantum entanglement in a simple and easy to understand way. Alleged ghost appearances can be attributed to small moments of amnesia and memory lapses.
As shown in the header image, the concept of a doppelganger is based on the idea that there is no single universe, but, according to Quantum Mechanics by Hugh Everett, different multiverses coexist at the same time. The series flirts with what we see and what the characters see and always questions the veracity of these images: are they the result of a quantum accident or are they our brain’s response to traumatic events ?
Constellation has a little bit of everything: a bit of conspiracy, interdepartmental politics and complex performances – by an extraordinary Noomi Rapace and a Jonathan Banks (the enigmatic Mike Ehrmantraut in ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’) who stands out in every scene. Space passes through the ship Soyuz These are the most realistic we’ve seen in fiction since “Gravity” and the treatment of the characters is also impeccable.
Even if the best of all lies in this part that we cannot tell you, in this skein which is gradually tangled by a handful of cosmonauts who remained outside the legal documents and who participated in a terrible stellar event. If you want to know more, it’s simple: take a look at the promotion of three months of free Apple TV+ and put “Constellation” at the top of your viewing list.
