Baldur’s Gate 3 updates continue. While we wait for new features and important changes, the game continues to improve and correct its shortcomings.
GOTY 2023 still hasn’t said its last word. Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to update itself by fixing the most problematic bugs. The goal is clear: to make the experience as optimal as possible, but sometimes there are a few problems. Unfortunately, the last major update to date contained many small errors that the studio tried to fix with several hotfixes and which also caused other problems. It’s a bit messy, but Larian doesn’t give up and comes again to clean up the situation.
A hotfix #22 for Baldur’s Gate 3
It’s just another way to start the week right. Larian Studio has deployed Hotfix #22 for Baldur’s Gate 3 this Monday, March 18, 2024. A little baby of 58.27 MB on Steam that installs very quickly. But before we go into details, let’s take a little aside the Xbox players who were deprived of the previous two updates. The Belgian studio encountered some problems when submitting hotfixes 20 and 21 to Microsoft and had to fix several additional errors that had been discovered in the meantime. This has now happened and these are the last three patches that will be deployed to your machines today. Worries about cross-saves should now be a thing of the past. Additionally, Larian has improved the messages displayed when syncing saves so that you can try again in the event of an error.
However, it is not this issue that has attracted the most attention. Lately the Dark Impulses have been heartbroken. The equally adored and hated drow from Baldur’s Gate 3 decided to end their relationship under certain conditions and without further ado. I no longer had to accept Bhaal for him to continue sharing his bed, it was just a small mistake due to a line of dialogue that has now been corrected. The bug was seen as a pure and simple change and caused a lot of excitement in the community. All’s well that ends well, it was just a small mistake. And in fact, in Act 3, Minthara will stop rambling and repeating what she thinks of Gale. Finally the magician’s ears should stop whistling.
And when will photo mode be available?
Otherwise, Hotfix 22 of Baldur’s Gate 3 fixes a number of bugs that can block progress or cause the game to crash under certain conditions. There are no major changes in sight, so we’ll have to wait until Patch 7. The next major update doesn’t have a deployment window yet and we still don’t know what it will actually contain. Players are still waiting for the famous photo mode that the studio promised last year. This could be the right solution considering that Larian uses these major updates to introduce important changes and new features.
