The nominees for the German Computer Game Award 2024 have been announced.
The nominees for the German Computer Game Award 2024 have been announced. The main jury met on March 14th and 15th to determine the winners of the most important prize in the German games industry from a total of 27 nominated games and prototypes.
The three candidates for the main prize in the “Best German Game” category are Atlas Fallen from Deck 13 Entertainment, EVERSPACE 2 from ROCKFISH Games and Fall of Porcupine from Critical Rabbit.
There is a total of 800,000 dollars in prize money, which will be distributed across the various categories. In the categories “Best German Game”, “Young Talent Award Best Debut” and “Young Talent Award Best Prototype”, not only the winners receive prize money, but also all nominees.
The jury consists of representatives from the games industry, science, culture, media and politics and, chaired by Mareike Ottrand, Professor of Interactive Illustration and Games at HAW Hamburg, decides on the best German games of the year. A list of all jury members can be found here
“We were allowed to judge a colorful bouquet of great games and – as always – it was not easy to make a decision in any category,” said Mareike Ottrand. “I’m looking forward to the award ceremony in Munich and to the sparkling eyes of the winners!”
Presenter Katrin Bauerfeind and entertainer Uke Bosse will once again host the awards ceremony on April 18th at the Eisbach Studios in Munich. The German Computer Game Prize 2024 will also be live www.deutscher-computerspielpreis.deTwitch and YouTube broadcast.
Voting in the Player of the Year category has now opened. About this one shortcut Participation is possible until April 11, 2024.
