In the words of Microsoft itself: “We are recalibrating our Microsoft Rewards points system”

Xbox announced big changes to the Microsoft Rewards points programwhich include plans to launch a “streamlined points earning experience” as well as “recalibrate” how users earn Microsoft Rewards points in the future.

The first big change is that the old Microsoft Rewards app on Xbox consoles will be removed very soon.. Weekly Sets and Weekly Sequences will also stop working on April 15. In its place, there will be a “new weekly bonus” in the Xbox Rewards Hub that rewards users for playing a game of their choice multiple times per week.

Here are some of the activities that will continue to earn Microsoft Rewards points on Xbox:

  • Play games on Xbox and PC with the Xbox app for PC. This includes in-game activities available to all members and Xbox Game Pass missions available to Game Pass members.
  • By purchasing games and other eligible items from the Microsoft Store.
  • Searches on Bing.com. Sign in to Bing with your Microsoft account and earn 5 points for every search. Limits apply.
  • Take advantage of special offers on new products.
  • By visiting the Microsoft Rewards web dashboard at Rewards.microsoft.com and completing the daily bundle.
  • Players will also be able to earn rewards for daily achievements, play on PC, and complete Xbox Game Pass missions.

Microsoft admits some Xbox players ‘might not receive as many points initially’ after this new implementation, but adjustments will be made over time and the team will often “experiment” with new activities to earn points.
