Not only Final Fantasy XVI made an appearance at PAX East, but also the long-running MMO Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy XIV also made its appearance on the main stage at PAX East. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida personally had the honor of speaking about the upcoming Dawntrail expansion – and it now has a specific release date.
Fans of the long-standing and successful online role-playing game in the JRPG franchise can pull out their calendars and mark July 2nd, 2024 in red on their calendars. While this is the general start for Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, there will be an early access phase a few days earlier starting on June 28th. Pre-orders for the expansion are scheduled to go live in the new week starting March 26th.
If you secure the add-on in advance, you can secure pre-order bonuses and access to the early access phase and get started a few days earlier. The pre-order bonuses also include the Minion Wind-up Zidane and Azeyma’s Earrings as another item. There will also be a Digital Collector’s Edition with some additional extras. Here comes the Ark mount, which you can see in the trailer below, the Minion Wind-up Garnet and more.
If you like to buy classic boxed versions instead of digital game versions and also consider yourself a Final Fantasy fan and collector, you can also choose a physical Collector’s Edition, which then includes a statue of Viper, a fabric Weltocrat, a journal, a leather pen case and includes the in-game items.
Away from the Dawntrail expansion, Yoshida confirmed on stage that the MMORPG now has more than 30 million registered accounts. There will be a cross-over event between Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy XIV from April 2nd to May 8th in advance of the add-on release.
