Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Dragon Plague infects farmers and murders NPCs

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Players will no doubt have heard whispers from their loyal followers, known as the Farmers, about a terrible plague striking their ranks. Unfortunately, this disease is real and is currently spreading through its characters in Capcom’s fantasy role-playing game and has resulted in mass murders of NPCs such as merchants and quest givers.

The catastrophic consequences of the plague have some players fearing that it will “ruin” their savegames – and Dragon’s Dogma 2 Currently, players can only have one of these (although a change is coming). But the ultimate impact of this spreading infection may not be as bad as it seems.

The infection known as Dragonsplague is heralded by players’ overly talkative characters throughout the year Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s story. Dragon Plague, the farmers warn, will make those infected violent, aggressive, and distrustful of their master’s commands. One can contract the disease by hiring an already infected farmer, or through combat interactions with dragons and dragons, where it can spread among party members.

If a player with the full-blown dragon plague is left untreated, they will transform themselves into a shadowy dragon and wreak havoc on entire cities full of people. Here is a case of the Dragon Plague that killed numerous residents in Vernworth. Yes, everyone except the main player character and a few soldiers remain dead.

The game adds insult to injury by chastising the player: “If only you had been more attentive, perhaps this tragedy could have been prevented.”

Luckily, it’s not difficult to prevent the spread. At the first threat of infection, players receive a warning in the game, but the symptoms of a dragon-infested character are not so easy to recognize – you have to be careful. Struggling farmers show signs of illness, such as coughing and visible discomfort; They touch their head as if checking for a fever or headache. They also begin to disobey orders and respond with phrases such as “I will act of my own accord” or “Don’t tell me what to do!” More subtly, their eyes begin to pulsate with a reddish hue.

There are several ways to combat a Dragonsplague infection. If one of your hired henchmen is infected, dismiss him quickly – or deliberately kill him by throwing him off a cliff or into a river – before the plague affects other members of your party. If your main character is infected, your best option is to kill them. Throw them into the brine to drown them, then bring them back with a Riftstone.

The most important thing to avoid is staying in an inn. This initiates the real series of murders that can be seen in the video above.

However, the stress over a dragon plague infection may not be worth it. And you shouldn’t use all your Wakestones (let alone buy them!) to immediately revive dead NPCs. While a plague outbreak leading to mass murder may seem like a game-breaking problem, players report that a wiped out city will eventually be repopulated and that some NPCs may come back to life over time. (Other characters in the world must have Wakestones too, right?)
