Crossover events are not uncommon in the world of comics and are extremely popular. It’s easy to ignore the fact that particularly flimsy reasons are often used to let Batman fight Superman or Wolverine fight the Punisher.
Duels of this kind are highlights because they are exciting and unpredictable. If Batman takes on the Joker or Lex Luther makes Superman’s life difficult again, then we know who will ultimately win the fight. But when two heroes fight, one hero must lose!
