The image we see on the cover of this article is, according to the latest leaks, a render of Google’s new Pixel 9. Previously, we’ve seen images that we thought were from the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, but the latest data indicates that in reality This year there won’t be two Pixel phones, but three.
These mobiles will be Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Google will add a third “extra large” option to its smartphone portfolio in 2024, including a radical change in the design of all models, compared to the previous generation, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

When the first images of the new Google Pixel were leaked, what caught our attention the most about the new models was that both had three sensors in their camera, which would mean that the smallest model in the family would finally include a telephoto lens.
Or at least that’s what we thought until then. Since two Pixel phones of two different sizes were leaked, they were estimated to be the Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro. However, new information released by @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles revealed that it is actually the Pixel 9 Pro with a display. 6.3 inches and the new Pixel 9 Pro XL with a 6.7 inch screen.
But now, famous leaker @OnLeaks has released the first images of the Pixel 9, which It will have two sensors in its camera, not three. It looks like we’re going to say goodbye to the dream of a telephoto lens on the smallest Pixel.
The Pixel 9 will also have a new design, the same as that we will see in its older brothers: Google’s new mobile will have a brand new camera module, replacing the design we saw in the Pixel 8. This module is shaped like an oval island and includes the two camera sensors and the flash. In addition, the edges of the mobile are much flatter, instead of being rounded like on the previous generation.
For now, the technical details of the hardware that the new Pixels will include are unknown, it is only expected that they will integrate Google’s new Tensor processor (Tensor G4) and that they will support charging technology wireless Qi2.
We should meet the new Pixel 9 next October. At this same event, a new Pixel Watch and Google’s next generation foldable, the Pixel Fold 2, could also arrive.
