We at CD Projekt Red are excited to give Xbox gamers the opportunity to discover it Cyberpunk 2077 free as part of Xbox Free Play Days For All! Starting tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. CET, all Xbox players can enter Night City and explore everything it has to offer. But since I only have five hours to spend in the City of Dreams, I’ve put together a few tips and tricks to make becoming a legendary mercenary even easier.
Upgrade your tools
To keep your weapons in tip-top shape, disassemble any items or clothing items you need for components (don’t worry, the clothing items will be added to your wardrobe even if you scrap them for parts). These components can then be used to upgrade all of your iconic weapons. All you need to do is navigate to the crafting menu in your inventory and see how many components you need. When it comes to non-Iconics, pay attention to the weapons your enemies drop. Your level grows as you progress.
The same rule applies to cyberware: dismantling all components also helps ensure that you can update your Chrome at Ripperdoc. Although you get some basic parts at the start of the game, I would recommend investing money in higher-tier cyberware first and only then upgrade – especially when it comes to your skeleton, which helps mitigate damage. Another great cyberware is Fortified Ankles or Reinforced Tendons, which allow you to make the most of Night City’s verticality with a charged jump or double jump.
Familiarize yourself with the skill tree
Cyberpunk 2077The benefits of have been extensively overhauled as part of Update 2.0 – available on Xbox Series X|S – making it easier than ever to create unique and impactful builds. Take a look at the perks available in each skill tree to get a feel for where you should invest your points. Right from the start of the game there are plenty of opportunities to level up and try out great advantages.
If you’re interested in netrunning, it’s best to invest heavily in the intelligence tree. For stealth, the Cool tree is a must, while anyone interested in close combat will find a wealth of great perks in the Body tree. Feel free to mix and match, or go all in on a specific tree! If you want to plan your approach in advance, I recommend spending some time in the Cyberpunk 2077 Build Planner to get a feel for what you can choose.
Decipher everything
In both the main story and side quests, you’ll come across optional ways to hack into terminals or decrypt shards. At the beginning, the hacking mini-game or Breach Protocol may be more difficult to complete due to the lower error rate. This means that it is crucial to plan all movements before beginning. There are also different processes that you need to complete, but it is not always possible to do them all at once. Decide what payout you are seeking (which sometimes involves the amount of Eurodollars you will receive or the level of decryption you will achieve). Be careful: Breach Protocol is a timed event, meaning that once you determine your first move, you only have a limited amount of time to complete the entire sequence.
(Don’t) fight the law
As an aspiring mercenary (heavy emphasis on “aspiring”), you may not be ready to deal with trigger-happy law enforcement at this point. Not to mention, the more you fight back, the more reinforcements the police will call in and the more intense their countermeasures will become. If you cause too much chaos, you may be labeled a cyberpsycho and have to face the NCPD’s top predators: MaxTac. This new addition to the police department is available as part of Update 2.0 for Series X|S. Be sure to pay attention to how many stars you got in the top right corner and move to a safe alley if necessary.
Meet Watson’s Resident Fixer
In each district of Night City there is a fixer who governs the area, hiring mercenaries for jobs and paying them appropriately. With Watson, Regina is the one who calls you and introduces herself. You meet her fairly early in your story and she sends you a few potential jobs – plus she has a pretty unique idea for dealing with the wave of cyberpsychosis hitting the city. If you want to get a sample of the performances and fights Cyberpunk 2077
Learn how to deal non-lethal damage
There are some quests where taking out the markers may not be the best option. In such situations, there are essentially two ways to deal with it: attaching the non-lethal Pax mod to your weapon or pulling out a baseball bat or similar blunt weapon. (Of course, you could always ignore your non-lethal commands and resort to killing, but that will affect your payout.) All blunt, non-lethal melee weapons are marked as such, and the Pax mod can be picked up during your normal gigs or purchased from a gun dealer. However, since Pax is permanent, it’s best to choose a weapon that you don’t mind removing the fangs from. And don’t be too trigger-happy: if you hit someone who’s already unconscious, they’ll be knocked out too.
