The best action RPG you’ve never played is getting a sequel

Action, played, RPG, sequel, youve

Yes, this is true. No, you’re not imagining things. Another Darkgate game is in development, helmed by Bill Roper, the original Darkgate London protagonist. Dark Portal: Redemption is coming soon – built with Unreal Engine 5 for PC and consoles. Of course, there’s no release date yet. Now all we have is this mic drop announcement that has us scratching our heads.

Lunacy Games was only recently founded by a group of industry veterans and is in development on a Wild West survival RPG in addition to the new Dark Portal game. However, judging from the official announcement of “Dark Portal: Redemption” and Roper’s own IP history, this game is what he is most interested in.

Roper said: “For years, I’ve dreamed of returning to the series we created in 2007, and I’ve always felt that there was unfinished business on the Dark Portal IP, which is why our project is codenamed Dark Portal. :Redemption””.

To create this game, Lunacy Games partnered with HanbitSoft Inc. They are a Korean publisher generally known for a variety of MMOs and mobile games, including Dark Portal London Steam Remastered and Dark Portal VR. They may not be a publisher you’re too familiar with. But hey, if they’re willing to give Lunacy Games enough money and freedom to make a good Dark Portal sequel, maybe it will make them famous in some way.

Frankly, if anyone can provide evidence that they have a new Dark Portal game on their 2024 prediction list, I’ll reward you with £10. Darkgate London is awesome, man. When it first came out, the approach to world-building and the looter-shooter genre (which, by the way, was even really a thing before this) was fantastic. Unfortunately, it didn’t really catch on, updates couldn’t keep the studio accountable, and 2008 passed. However, it’s really interesting to see how the Dark Portal games stand out in an era filled with unique quirks. It is now commonplace.

Personally, I’m excited to see more. I don’t believe the new Dark Portal game will revolutionize the industry, but it’s a killer IP and I do think it deserves a second chance. The official announcement also states that the game will stay true to the style and genre of the original, albeit evolving based on current industry trends, so I’ll be interested to see what they come up with.

Let us know what you think about it all: Are you keen on Darkport Redemption? If so, please tell us why. While you’re at it, go ahead and watch some movie trailers – they work surprisingly well!
