Our Dragon’s Dogma 2 The Quest Guide will show you how to start the quests. Where can I find all five magic books?and how to complete the two quests “Wizard’s Rating” and “Banned” so that you can acquire both the Wizard’s Master Skills and the Mage’s Master Skills.

How to get into Myrddin’s house and start The Sorcerer’s Appraisal

When you reach the Checkpoint Rest Town In the west of Vermund there is a house with a locked door at the top of the hill. When you try to get in, a man named Merlin will come out, be rude and tell you to get lost.

To get him to talk to you, you need to equip your device Courtly tunic And Courtly trousers – just like you did to attend Disa’s masquerade ball. If you do, he will invite you and then ask you to help him complete his collection of books with the quest “The Wizard’s Judgment.” You will be given a list of five spell books that you can collect for him.

Complete The Wizard’s Judgment for him and you’ll learn the Maelstrom spell.

How to find Trysha and start Spellbound

The start of “Spellbound” is a little more difficult. You need to find a girl named Trysha in a very remote house north of Melve. When you reach the house, talk to Trysha and her grandmother Eini, then wait for Eini to go outside. If you talk to Trysha again, she will tell you that she wants to learn magic and give you the quest “Enchanted”.

You have to help Trysha get the wizard Meteoron Spells and those of the magician Heavenly song of praise Curse.

Should you give the spell books to Myrddin or Trysha?

The simple answer here is: both! But how does one do it?

Since both Myrddin and Trysha want the same spellbooks, it initially seems like you’ll have to choose which quest to complete. But there is a way around this (by turning in one of those fake copies) at Ibrahim’s junk shop in the Checkpoint rest area.

How to make fakes in Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop

Since both Myrddin and Trysha are asking for the same books, you have to go Ibrahim’s junk shop in the Checkpoint Rest Town and request forgeries of any books you find.

Myrddin wants to complete a collection of books, but Trysha is trying to actually learn magic. You can get away with giving Myrddin fakes – especially if you give him multiple books at once. Trysha will know by now that they are fakes.

Ibrahim will charge you 6,000 gold per fake and you will have to wait a day each time you request a fake. This means you’ll end up spending the best part of a week and 30,000 gold on these quests.

Where can I find the spellbooks for The Sorcerer’s Appraisal and Spellbound?

Both Myrddin and Trysha ask you for the same list of five spellbooks:

  • “Fulminous Shield”
  • “Howling Blizzard”
  • “Let there be light”
  • “The death knell of the nation”
  • “Towering Earth”

You only need to find one copy of each spell book, as you’ll be copying (most of) them, but there are two books – Howling Blizzard and Nation’s Death Knell – that you can find two genuine copies of.

Additionally, if something goes wrong, you can only give each of them three spell books and still get (most of) the rewards.

“Let there be light” location.

Here you will find the magic book “Let There Be Light”. in Myrddin’s house, but if you just go upstairs and grab it, he’ll get angry and attack you for stealing. (You can kill him and use a Wakestone if necessary – he’s apparently pretty forgiving after that.)

Instead, go outside and face the front of the house. Climb the crumbling wall on the right and work your way back to the front corner. Jump from the end of the wall to the balcony and go inside. “Let There Be Light” is in the first room and you can take it without him noticing.

The Fulminous Shield tome is actually the easiest to find. You can buy it in Melve by the traveling merchant Dudley.

Nation’s Death Knell Location #1

North-northeast of the Rest Town checkpoint is an area called the Ancient Battleground, which you may have passed on the way to the Sphinx. There’s usually a Drake guarding the area, but you can skirt the edges of the battlefield to avoid him (or use the scattered ballistae to start a fight).

At the northwest end of the battlefield you will find the entrance to a (mostly collapsed) castle full of skeletons. Make a loop around the inside, paying attention to one large room on the right. Inside you’ll find a copy of Nation’s Death Knell.

Towering Earth location.

You can obtain the Towering Earth spellbook from Magistrate Waldhar once you place him in the library The vaults of the merciful hand – what you do as part of the quest “The Imprisoned Magistrate”.

Howling Blizzard Location and Nation’s Death Knell Location #2

Both “Howling Blizzard” and another copy of “Nation’s Death Knell” can be found in the waterfall cave northeast of Melve and the Borderwatch outpost. It’s a difficult cave to navigate – there are a lot of goblins, a chimera, and (eventually) a lich. You have to traverse the entire lower level and then climb up to the second floor. In a large room you will find a treasure chest containing both Howling Blizzard and Nation’s Death Knell. Be aware that when you open it you will be attacked by a Lich.

Howling Blizzard Location #2

Right on the southern edge of Nameless VillageAs you enter the town, look out for a woman named Wendy. She is willing to trade a copy of Howling Blizzard for a copy of Fulminous Shield.

Bring your copy of Fulminous Shield to Ibrahim and have a forgery made. Give the counterfeit to Wendy and she will hand over (another) copy of Howling Blizzard.

How to complete The Sorcerer’s Appraisal

Dragon's Dogma 2 completes the quest

If you want to complete both quests, first visit Myrddin to complete The Sorcerer’s Judgment. If you complete Spellbound first, he will be upset (for spoiler reasons) and won’t help you.

Once you’ve made the forgeries, go back to Myrddin’s house in Checkpoint Rest Town and deliver them. If you deliver him (at least) three books at once, he won’t notice that they are fakes. And that’s it.

You receive Merlin’s Chronicles (which allows you to learn one of the Sorcerer Master’s abilities, So-called), The Ares Morpho RobeAnd 11,000 gold.

How to complete Spellbound

“Spellbound” requires you to take the (real) books back to Eini and Trysha’s house.

Give up three of them at once and she will give you one Turquoise ring.

You will then be instructed to check on her in a few days. However, you don’t actually have to wait that long. Go to the campsite to the west and sleep until the next morning.

When you return, Trysha will no longer be able to control her new magic. Don’t attack her. Just avoid their spells and keep running around them. Try to stay near the front of the house – your goal is to wait until she runs out of stamina and then grab her. She can (and will) teleport to the roof above the door and you won’t be able to reach her. If you stay close, she will teleport somewhere else.

If you see that she is out of breath, run to her and hold her. After a few seconds you will see a cutscene where Eini is in the house taking care of Trysha, as well as another objective to check on her in a few days.

Again, just go to the campsite and sleep one night. When you return she will be awake and grateful. You will receive one Cast stone staff and a Summoner’s Records This will teach you the (one?) Wizard Master skill Meteoron.

Before you leave, talk to Trysha’s grandmother Eini (not her grandfather Eino). She will give you one Wizard’s Almanac This will teach you the “Mage Master” skill. Heavenly song of praise.
