One UI, the interface for Samsung mobile phones, includes many applications created by the company itself. It is one of the few companies that continues to maintain the Calls, Calendar or Contacts applications instead of using Google’s by default, but also has apps that Android doesn’t include by default.
Many of these apps allow for greater customization or use the S-Pen of more expensive models, but others are designed simply so children can use cell phones safely. Many parents occasionally give their terminals to their minors so that they can play or have fun.but it is dangerous to do so without supervision.
In case you cannot be with the child, a solution is the one offered by the Korean company, called SamsungChildren. This interface allows you to use certain games and applications but not the rest of the terminal, which is protected by a password.
Activating Samsung Kids
This service is integrated into all Galaxy and accessing it is very simple since there is an application in the application drawer. This application, called Kids, offers several games and applications for the little ones. The main screen shows installed applications and in the three-dot icon in the upper right corner you can enter settings.
It’s here that You can set parental controls to find out what duration of use is appropriate and limit it (with the phone’s PIN code or another), add friends from other profiles… There is also a section with more applications for children, downloadable from the Samsung Galaxy Store.
On the left side there are different Selections Characters. Each offers different games and apps that can be installed independently of what appears in the traditional mobile menu. Samsung Kids is a kind of safe zone unrelated to the rest of the mobile, which is good for children.
Most of these titles are games, but keep in mind that some offer in-app purchases. They ask for the PIN or fingerprint to make these purchases, but you still have to be careful with certain titles. Those that come by default do not have these kinds of disadvantages.
It is appreciated that mobile brands are aware that children will eventually use their devices and give parents the tools to make this use the most appropriate. Hopefully Android will implement something like this as standard in future versions.
