Add a different and personalized touch to your iPhone videos by adding stickers or emojis, we show you how to do it in 4 different ways
Even though Apple has launched some interesting features for making exceptional videos, it sometimes feels like something is missing a special touch to highlight them. There is a way to include a little more life in your videos and that is thanks for the stickers and emojis. We’ll see how to add them to videos you record with your iPhone with different apps, two native and using two instant messaging apps if you want to share them with friends or family who don’t have an iPhone.
Messages to the rescue to improve our videos
To benefit from the Messages application, you need to use the built-in camera functionality to record the video and add the stickers or emojis. Since it’s not a video editing app, you can’t import a previously recorded one. That said, let’s go:
- Open the Messages app and tap a conversation
- Tap the + next to the text bar, then select the camera icon
- Select the video section and start recording
- Press the button to finish recording
- Click on the Effects option on the left side of your screen
- Here it’s about choosing between stickers or emojis. Select the option of your preference
- Once you have defined the additional content, press the button to send it.
It is possible to add the stickers once before starting recording, it will depend on the environment and situation you are recording in to give it the right meaning. After sending, the Messages app saves the video to the Photos appso you can also share it on your social networks.
Use Apple’s Clips app
Do you remember an alternative to iMovie on iPhone? Clips is an interesting application for creating videos especially for Apple’s flagship device. You can add filters, dynamic music, animated text, stickers, among others. Here it is now possible to add previously recorded videos like any normal video application.
- Open Clips or download it below
- Start video recording
- Play the colorful star icon which is the effects section
- Open it sticker menu
- When the video is finished, tap Share, then tap Save Video.
If you have a video already recorded, follow these steps:
- Open Clips and tap the images icon to import a video from Photos.
- Select the video and tap Effects
- Tap the stickers or emojis section, depending on your preference
- Tap the sticker or drag and drop to place it in a specific location
- To finish, select Share then Save the video
All videos recorded from Clips will be hosted in the Photos app. By the way, here we share several tips for using clips.
Use WhatsApp to add stickers to your videos
Have you recorded videos directly from WhatsApp? This option is great for adding stickers and quickly sharing videos from this location.
- Open WhatsApp and select any conversation (it could be one with yourself)
- Tap the + button and select Photo & Video Library
- Select a previously recorded video or record one directly in the Camera option
- Now it’s time to click on the sticky button
- Add stickers or emojis to your video
- Confirm by clicking on the button Send
- If you want to keep the video for yourself, play the video, tap Share and select Save.
The only negative is that when you send a video to WhatsApp, it is compressed to reduce its size unless you select the HD option before sending it.
I don’t have WhatsApp and I don’t have an iPhone, what should I do?
We are almost at the end of this article and if you don’t trust WhatsApp but you don’t have an iPhone either, you can use Facebook Messenger to put stickers on your videos.
- Enter your Messenger application with the previously started Facebook session
- Open a conversation and tap the gallery icon
- You can select an already recorded video or the camera button to record a new one.
- Once registration is complete Click on the sticky note icon (emoji)
- Use a different type of stickers in your videos with Messenger
- Save in the lower left corner to have the video in Photos
Unlike WhatsApp, in Messenger you can save the video without sending it. This is a nice option if you want to change the style of iOS stickers. Now you know how to give a different touch to the videos you send to your friends and family.
