The makers of Dead Cells are reportedly developing a Prince of Persia roguelite for Ubisoft.

A new Prince of Persia video game is coming to Steam in Early Access later this year, according to a report.

According to Insider Gaming, the developer responsible is the Motion Twin team from Evil Empire, who took over the further development and support for Dead Cells in 2019. In February they announced the end of support for Dead Cells.

It is believed that development has been going on for four years and dates back to a discussion between Ubisoft and Evil Empire at GDC in 2019.

The game is a roguelite called The Rogue Prince of Persia. It is constantly provided with free updates and further developed based on feedback from the community.

The game’s art design is heavily inspired by Franco-Belgian comics.

Other platforms other than Steam were not mentioned.
