Diablo 4 welcomes traditional functionality from other Blizzard titles for the first time in its history. Enough to get a first impression of the big changes to come.
Diablo 4 will indeed soon see profound changes to its gaming system. Blizzard obviously wants to do it right and is therefore opening the first PTR of its flagship title. An opportunity like no other for the heroes of Sanctuary to test all this in preview.
A big project in prospect for Diablo 4
Diablo 4 needs a face change to bring back disappointed audiences after an explosive launch. Blizzard is aware of this and therefore intends to put together a major project for Season 4. To ensure that the work is as clean as possible, the game is hosting its first-ever PTR (Public Test Realm in French). However, this only affects the PC version and lasts until April 9th. It is logically mandatory to have a copy of the game on Battle.Net, Blizzard’s launcher, and a persistent connection to the Internet.
To access it, you will need to install another version of Diablo 4, which you can access from the drop-down menu by selecting the versions of the game above the Play button. Since this is another full iteration, you need to make sure there is enough space. With this PTR, Blizzard is counting on players to push the game’s many changes to their limits. Mistakes are therefore certainly regretted and the mechanics can behave unexpectedly.
What can you expect from the game’s first PTR?
Therefore, every character created on Diablo 4’s first PTR has basically unlocked all fast travel points and open-world collectibles. It will also be possible to access level 100 directly and receive 100 million gold coins and 1,000 obols. However, this requires a rewrite of the game’s prologue, which cannot be passed in its current state. Once we get to the first town, an NPC will give us the boost mentioned above. A random complete set of equipment is also awarded during the exercise.
Here hack’n-slash fans have the opportunity to test all the important changes to Diablo 4. These will officially arrive during the game’s fourth season, exceptionally expected on May 14th. Enough to reboot Blizzard’s hellish machine while potentially waiting for Path of Exile 2?
