How to Fix FF7 Rebirth G-Bike UPA Expert Score Error

Players try to get everything done Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth encounter a roadblock at the very end of the game after the current patch 1,020 interrupted one of the very last side quests. And until it’s patched by Square Enix, only those who physically own the game will be able to complete the quest, get the associated trophy, and unlock the elusive Platinum Trophy for every other achievement in the game.

Let me tell you the story of a stupid, stupid man who decided to do every side quest and activity in Rebirththe latest release from Square Enix FF7 Remake trilogy which released on February 29th exclusively for PS5. This man, who is very busy playing other games at work and who no longer has as much free time as he did when he was young, decided to play FF7 Rebirth only once. This idiot has spent almost every night for the last three weeks playing around with this giant game. Then, at the end, when he only had one side quest left to complete before moving on to the finale, he discovered that it was impossible to finish the final side activity because it was broken. That stupid man is me. And the pain I felt in that moment was immense. Unfortunately, I’m not alone.

Although I’m just now discovering this situation, it’s been a problem for players since Square Enix released it on March 20th Patch 1.020 for FF7 Rebirth. It appears that this patch has broken the side quest “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” in a certain way. At some point in the quest you need to beat the high score of the ultimate party animal in the G-Bike arcade simulator. No matter how hard you try, the game doesn’t recognize your score, making it impossible to complete the quest and therefore impossible to win all the trophies, which locks you out of the Platinum Trophy.

You can find players Warning others not to download the patch already on March 22nd. Unfortunately, I think most people avoid online discussions about the game to avoid spoilers and haven’t seen the warnings. Check RedditI’ve found Hundreds of players via various threads and Websites that complain that the Quest is broken and then realize it’s flawed for everyone.

“It just happened to me too. It’s literally the last thing I have to do in the game before playing through my first game. So annoying,” said one user.

“Damn, I was very lucky. Complete this quest the day before the patch. Hope it comes soon for you,” another person said.

Here’s how to complete it FF7 Rebirth“Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” quest

Reading through the answers, there seems to be a small chance that you can still complete the quest after the update, but it’s unclear if these players haven’t updated the game to the version that says “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” disturbs. Regardless, there is a solution, but only if you own the disc version of FF7 Rebirth.

All you have to do is uninstall Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Disconnect your PS5 from the internet and reinstall the game and quest from a previous save. Make sure you don’t load a save where the error has already occurred, otherwise you’ll be stuck. You must load a save before playing the G-Bike simulation and getting a high score.

Players have reported that this method is a viable, if somewhat annoying, solution that allows you to complete the final side quest in the game. Once you’ve completed the quest, be sure to plug the console back in and update the game.

For digital owners like me, there seems to be no real solution other than waiting for Square Enix to hopefully provide a patch Rebirth to fix this error. My city has contacted Square Enix and will update this post if we hear back. In the meantime, I just finish the game knowing that I would have done anything, but one damn mistake at the very end ruined my plan.
