Spring is slowly arriving and with it the first rumors about summer. Multiple credible sources have made revelations about the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, including the date of the conference.
Apparently Summer Gest Fest 2024 and its announcements are coming soon. Behind the scenes, manufacturers and publishers are preparing their next big speeches. Ubisoft has scheduled its annual meeting for June 10, where Sony plans to provide information about the PS5 catalog starting next month. For its part, Xbox will also hold a conference during the event, without giving further details. This was done without counting on the well-informed insiders.
First leaks for this summer’s Xbox Showcase
E3 is dead, long live Summer Game Fest. Geoff Keighley’s annual event has grown in importance in recent years and the editors will be present again for this 2024 edition, which promises to be particularly rich in announcements. Tom Warren names a few other games, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed, Indiana Jones and The Ancient Circle, all of which should lift the veil on the release date for the occasion. Additionally, some Call of Duty Black Ops Gulf War is expected during the Xbox Showcase this summer. The next big episode would be screened during the event and released during the sacrosanct Christmas season. According to information from Tom Henderson (Insider Gaming), the game would fully embrace the open world in its main campaign. The missions would then look more like what a Far Cry might offer, with a whole range of vehicles to traverse open maps that we promised will never be seen before.
Focus on Call of Duty Black Ops Gulf War
Activision has a lot of interest in releasing the big game after the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 debacle. Players obviously don’t have to wait until the Xbox Showcase to see the game in action. Henderson’s sources actually confirm that this new Call of Duty Black Ops would be revealed before the event and in a more traditional way. This means there is no need to travel to Warzone to witness the big discovery. However, the 2024 episode would be revealed in more detail during the Xbox Showcase, likely with a demonstration of a mission from the main campaign. The communication campaign would continue in August, with a focus on multiplayer and then zombie mode.
We also recall that Windows Central’s Jez Corden recently hinted that State of Decay 3 could also arrive this summer. Nothing is less certain, especially since an artist who worked on it hinted that the game wouldn’t be released until 2027. The latter quickly deleted this notice, a big mistake on their part?
