Earlier this year during the Nintendo Partner Showcase, it was announced that the 2010 Wii title Epic Mickey would be returning to the Switch this year in an all-new “faithful remake” called Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed.
GameSpot spoke with senior producer Pan Schröder about the project, who went into a bit more detail about what exactly this remake will contain. If you were hoping for some quality-of-life improvements, the good news is that these will include improvements to the camera, analog stick controls, and more:
“We had to change the controls, we had to improve the camera and we had to translate the motion controls to analog sticks, while we had to keep the heart of the game intact”
And don’t worry, if you want to play this title as the original release – motion controls will still be an option. So you can channel the Nintendo Wii days! GameSpot also shared eight minutes of gameplay footagewhich show some earlier segments.
