New “exclusively” by Insider Gaming reporter Tom Henderson has provided an update on Ubisoft Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake.
A previous update claimed that the project had reached an “important” milestone, and now, according to this latest report, the game’s remake is a complete “remake from scratch,” but it’s still in the early stages of development.
“The non-public footage sent to Insider Gaming shows that the game is still somewhat in its early stages (missing textures, assets, etc.) and, unfortunately, is probably a long way from release.”
This remake reportedly includes “a complete graphical overhaul, new animations, combat and parkour mechanics,” and more. The title has also reportedly been “rewritten” and “recaptured in mocap”. In addition, the same “exclusive” suggests that the original voice of the prince (Yuri Lowenthal) “will no longer reprise his role.”
Sources have stated that Ubisoft may share a “more prominent update” soon, so hopefully the “problematic development” it’s reportedly dealing with has finally been ironed out.
Last week, Henderson also shared an exclusive about a new Prince of Persia-like roguelike game made by Dead Cells co-developer Evil Empire. You can read about it in our previous story here on Nintendo Life:
