Lambent Flame Nation In Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the follow-up quest to Feast of Deception and begins immediately upon completion.
You must now enter Battahl to continue your adventure in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Luckily, Captain Brant was kind enough to give you a Entry permit after the aforementioned quest, and you will need it. Wait for an ox cart at West Cart Station at Vernworth to quickly reach Checkpoint Rest Town and, once there, follow the paved path to the border gate.
Now you need to get to Bakbattahl, but that’s easier said than done, so use our Nation of the Lambent Flame walkthrough for Dragon’s Dogma 2 to help you reach the city.

Nation of the Lambent Flame walkthrough for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Journey to Battahl
Your first task in Nation of the Lambent Flame is to enter Battahl in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Once you arrive at Checkpoint Rest Town, you will find that the gate is closed and guarded by a Beastren named Gordon. If you have the entry permit in your inventory, you will automatically see a short cutscene.
Little in front of you, Lord Phesus passes through the gate on his chariot. How close you were to him… If you play as Beastren, you can show the permit again and you will have access to Battahl. If you are a human, you will need the beast mask from the forger Ibrahim here in Checkpoint Rest Town and to disguise yourself.
Once you finally cross the border into Battahl, you can find out some local gossip by listening to the locals. For example, these two men here talk about increasingly frequent phenomena attacks on ox carts:
This starts the Mercy Among Thieves side quest. You can also spend the night at Zeplin’s Inn and gives a boy named Toumi something to eat. Do this twice in a row and follow the scene with Hugo.
If you are ready to continue the journey, there is bad news: due to the bandit attacks mentioned above, the ox carts are not currently running in Bakbattahl.
This means you will have to walk all the way to Bakbattahl. Even after the bandit gang has been stopped, the oxcarts will only work again after you arrive in Bakbattahl. On the way, you will meet a man named Lyssandro, who will give you more information about the oxcart attacks.
A few meters further south, someone called the Pathfinder will appear and give you a specific destination – The Rockmouse’s burrow.
Rockmouse Burrow Location in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Your next task in Nation of the Lambent Flame in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to find Rockmouse’s burrow. You can easily complete Mercy Among Thieves along the way, but otherwise the journey to Bakbattahl is uneventful.
Follow the road east, confronting the various enemies that cross your path until you arrive east of the crystal snakes’ hiding place. Here you will discover the Station 2 of the Battahl cable car:
The cable car is used by standing on it and turning the crank. This will take you to Ruined ruins. Use the other cable cars here, even if you have to travel on foot to reach some of them. Make sure your pawns are boarded before using a cable car, as harpies will attack when you use them.
You will eventually reach Cable car station 1 where the Rockmouse’s burrow is directly below you. Go down and follow the dialogue between Xavier And Tobias.
Talk to Go then accompany her to the tavern. There she will give you the Battahl residence permit which will allow you to explore the city freely. Although this security is not extended to your pawns who are not welcome in Bakbattahl. Congratulations: the quest is now complete and Flickering Shadows will start automatically.
