According to a leaker’s information, Destiny 3 will be a standalone game and not a remake or major DLC.
A few days ago, a leaker caused a stir with new information about a third part of the Destiny shooter series that was allegedly in development under the code name “Payback”.
His statements were given credibility by the fact that he had previously been correct in his predictions about upcoming features for Destiny 2. According to the leaker, he gets his information from former Bungie employees.
In a new one Reddit post he now makes it clear that Destiny 3 will be a completely separate game and not a revised version of its predecessor or a major DLC:
“Destiny 3 is Destiny 3. No big DLC. Not a remake of Destiny 2. Destiny 3 is, as far as I know, a new game in the series. I thought it was obvious.”
According to the leaker, Destiny 3 has been around since at least the Destiny 2 expansion The Witch Queenso since February 2022, in development in the background. However, work on Destiny 2 and Marathon still has priority.
