Despite the risk of installing third-party apps to use WhatsApp, many users are unaware of the dangers of using them. We are talking about applications that allow us to link our WhatsApp account to take advantage of additional features not available on the application original.
One of the most popular applications of this type is WhatsApp Plus, an unofficial version that provides access to some features that are not available in the official version. The problem is that by using this tool we assume a great risk for security and the objective itself. may temporarily or permanently suspend our user account.
Using apps like WhatsApp Plus is not a good idea
If you haven’t heard of WhatsApp Plus yet, It is one of the most famous unofficial clients. Although initially the official WhatsApp application did not have many functions available in WhatsApp Plus, today it already has many features offered by this unofficial version.
Considering the above, it’s not worth taking risks to which we are exposed when downloading WhatsApp Plus, since the improvements are minor and mainly related to the customization possibilities.
WhatsApp Plus does not have an official website from which we can download the application, so it is necessary to search the Internet until we find an APK of the application. The problem is that we have no way of knowing what possible modifications the APK includes, which poses a huge security risk. In fact, the most normal is that when downloading WhatsApp Plus we download a version that contains viruses or malware.
On the other hand, when you use tools like WhatsApp Plus We have no way of knowing what the tool does with our information. Not only do we provide access to our entire contact list, but we use the application to send private messages to our friends and family. Obviously, we cannot have any guarantee as to who has access to our data.
Leaving aside the huge security and privacy risks we expose ourselves to when using WhatsApp Plus, there is another point to keep in mind that many ignore: Meta could block our WhatsApp account if we use third-party clients.
As you already know, by using WhatsApp we accept the terms and conditions of the service, in which Meta positions itself in relation to tools like WhatsApp Plus or similar. In fact, the WhatsApp help center specifies that our account could be temporarily suspended if it is detected that we are using an unofficial application. And not only that, because if our account has been temporarily suspended and we still do not use the official application, Meta may permanently suspend access to the Service.
At this point it is clear that we should not consider using this type of tools, both for security reasons and to prevent the company from suspending our user account. Although we cannot know for sure that our account will be blocked if we use WhatsApp Plus, the possibility of blocking exists and the company has blocked user accounts for this reason in the past.
