Not surprisingly, Codemasters’ F1 series is getting a new offshoot this year and EA has now released the first details about EA Sports F1 24 in addition to a trailer.
What is already certain is that EA Sports F1 24 from Codemasters is a little earlier this year than usual. From May 31st you can hit the accelerator on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Yes, you read that right, the racing game is coming again this year for the old generation of consoles, which is why there are hardly any massive changes to be expected visually.
The new main feature is EA Sports Dynamic Handling, a new driving model that was developed together with F1 driver Max Verstappen. “Working closely with current world champion and Champions Edition cover star Max Verstappen, the new EA Sports Dynamic Handling has redefined the driving experience of the car to produce realistic and predictable handling across all wheels and surfaces,” said EA.
These include, among other things, completely new suspension kinematics, an improved tire model, advanced aerodynamic simulation and new engine and vehicle setup options. “The new handling model, powered by EA Sports Dynamic Handling, will allow players to get the maximum performance from their car, with authentic physics that gives them the confidence to race wheel-to-wheel with their rivals,” said Codemasters Senior Creative Director Lee Mather in a statement.
Furthermore, various tracks were reworked for EA Sports F1 24, especially Silverstone, but also Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Lusail International Circuit and Jeddah Corniche Circuit. Career mode has also received overhauls, so you can now compete as an aspiring F2 racer, a “legendary icon” or a custom character.
The game will be released as a Standard Edition and a Digital Champions Edition. The latter offers players access to a selection of new team liveries, James Hunt and Juan Pablo Montoya as icons, 18,000 Pitcoin, an F1 World Bumper Back, three days of early access and a VIP Podium Pass.
