More and more Android device manufacturers are joining the trend by offering artificial intelligence-based featuressome exclusive and developed in-house, others, like Circle to search, developed by Google for the operating system.
Xiaomi is the next company that is also gearing up to fill its phones with AI. The Asian company is currently working on “hundreds of artificial intelligence functions”, as Gizmochina reports, citing sources close to the company. These features will begin arriving on the first compatible devices in the coming months.
Xiaomi has an “AI treasure chest”, and the first phones to receive it are the Xiaomi 14
The company is currently in the testing phase of what it has named “AI Treasure Chest”, or treasure chest of artificial intelligence. This is a set of hundreds of functions based on artificial intelligence, many of which will be dedicated to productivity and different tools for the company’s mobile phones, as well as functions based on generative AI.
One of these generative artificial intelligence features in development is called AI Surprise Wallpaper, the name of which clearly indicates that this feature will be able to create wallpapers using AIapparently with a random theme and a surprise result, possibly following certain parameters indicated by users.
Xiaomi started the testing period for these functions on April 18 and it will last until August 2. Currently, 78 people are registered, but they hope to add thousands more. A source close to the development assured Gizmochina that the first 100 features of “AI Treasure Chest” they will arrive very soonand among them will be included the function to create wallpapers using AI.
The first phones to benefit from these features will be the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14, via an update. However, Xiaomi’s artificial intelligence features will also reach more phones with HyperOS operating system in the future.
It will be interesting to see what AI-based features and functions Xiaomi prepares for its devices, especially since the company completely renewed its mobile operating system at the end of 2023, leave MIUI behind and opt for a HyperOS which is not only a system for mobile phones, but also for a wider range of company devices, including cars. It remains to be seen which other devices and products will also benefit from some of these AI features.
