Before you launch an attack on Fort Hagen in Fallout 4, we recommend that you simply continue with the “Retrouvaille” quest that will take you there. The latter begins at Kellogg’s house after Canigou smells his cigar. You then have to track him down.
Follow Canigou until he stops at the water’s edge and use the ashtray there. This gets him excited again and he stops again at the bottom of the stairs near a train track. Once there, examine the bloody bandages to your right. After crossing a tunnel, Canigou stops again.
This time it’s the bottle on the table that you need to examine. The next stop will be in front of a plastic carcass. Talk to him and he will give you the coordinates to follow. As you can imagine, these take you to the gates of Fort Hagen.
The first step to avoid being bothered by them is to destroy the turrets on the roof. Then go down the steps to get to the entrance. Eliminate the synthetics you come across Take the stairs on the left to find a terminal.
If you hack it, a robot will come and help you. Continue killing any enemies you find on this first floor until you come across an elevator. Use it and you will enter a corridor. The left door is blocked with chains, remove them. This will allow you to return to the beginning of the area if necessary.
Then go down the corridor and you will come across a door in front of you. Open it and continue into the corridors where you can collect two interesting items: a fusion reactor and a statuette that increase the critical damage of energy weapons.
Then go down the stairs and walk along the hallway until you arrive in a room with a bed. Use it to prepare for what awaits you in the Fort Hagen sequel. Then take the door and you will end up in a new room with Kellogg.
Fight against Kellogg
After a discussion, the fight begins and if you don’t want to be overwhelmed, we recommend that you first get rid of Kellogg’s henchmen before focusing on the latter. Once defeated, he leaves behind three things.
His weapon, the terminal password and the cybernetic brain optimizer. The password can be used immediately on the Kellogg terminal. Use the “Open Doors” command there. All you have to do is take the elevator to get to the roof.
You can use the terminal to open doors and disable turrets. Plus, you’re outside, which gives you the ability to teleport. Go to Diamond City and more specifically to Piper’s house to finish the quest.
