The much-anticipated release date for Silent Hill 2 Remake is still in the fog for now and is officially almost upon us after several encouraging signs and rumors in that direction.
We’re getting information about this upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake announcement directly from Bloober Team. The Polish studio’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, made this point in his last annual report. James’ updated misadventures will soon emerge from the fog.
Bloober Team is clear: Silent Hill 2 Remake is finally getting closer
Fans’ feverish wait two years after the announcement of the Silent Hill 2 remake is nearing its end. Bloober Team (The Medium), Konami’s studio responsible for development, has officially confirmed the matter in its latest version Annual report dated. More specifically, it was CEO Piotr Babieno who delivered the good news. “ We are in the final stages of development on Silent Hill 2. A release date and platforms will be announced soon ».
As a reminder, numerous classification bodies have given their verdict on this highly anticipated title a priori for PC and PS5. Given the schedule, it is very likely that the release date announcement will happen in June. It is indeed a very opportune time historically for the video game industry. Whether this takes place as part of the Summer Game Fest or via a free PlayStation Showcase/State of Play, the fog remains. Fans of the legendary original Silent Hill 2 can definitely be sure to hear about it soon.
A remake that does justice to the original monument?
This is undoubtedly the question on fans’ lips. Unfortunately, the presentation of Silent Hill 2 Remake during the last State of Play was not reassuring in this sense. Konami then decided to emphasize the combat, which clearly isn’t the strengths of the original game. This choice was not to the taste of fans or even Bloober Team. According to the Polish studio, this did not correspond to its vision of bringing this monument to survival horror up to date.
Let’s hope the upcoming announcement of the highly anticipated remake will highlight even more what made the original work the legend we know it to be. One recent change in particular has calmed fans down a bit. James’ face would actually have had a last minute facelift. Its appearance now appears to be closer to that of its first iteration from 2001. 23 years old… that definitely doesn’t make us any younger.
