At least in Germany, the remake of the first Gothic is probably one of the hottest role-playing games currently in development. After the first trailers weren’t exactly well received, the Alkimia Interactive team sat down at the drawing table again and changed a few things, which the biggest fans really liked. For those apologists, THQ Nordic has now introduced a stylish Collector’s Edition.
Of course, the Collector’s Edition of the Gothic Remake will not be available in unlimited quantities. THQ Nordic says there will be 7,500 units in total. These change hands for a whopping 199.99 dollars. It is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

For this not exactly small sum, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive also promise you some goodies. The most exciting content is probably the sleeper mask, which you can hang on your wall at home. But of course there is a lot more physical and digital in the package.
Specifically, you will receive the following bonuses for your money:
- 34×24 centimeter sleeper mask with wall mount
- Genuine leather notebook
- Genuine leather bracelet
- Original soundtrack for the game
- the game Gothic Remake
While all of this certainly makes fans’ hearts beat faster, there is still one big problem with the Gothic remake. Because we’re still missing a release date to this day. The THQ shop mentions December 31, 2024, but that is definitely just a placeholder date.
The original Gothic was released in 2001 and catapulted the Piranha Bytes studio straight into the Olympus of the German development landscape. The remake aims to transport the experience into modern times without losing the iconic “Ruhrpott charm”. The studio Alkimia, which was responsible for the development, promises a modern combat system, new content and of course a technically up-to-date update.
A release date for the Gothic remake is still missing, but a collector’s edition has now been presented. That’s what’s inside!
