The team at Paradox Tectonic has announced that its upcoming life simulator, Life by You, will be launching in early access on June 4th this year – and if this sounds like something you’ve heard before, that’s because we actually already know about it The date is months old!
If you’re wondering why a studio would go to such lengths to re-announce something it’s already said – and recently – the answer lies between the lines of the press release. What they actually said was “Life by You” get ready Early Access” (emphasis mine), which is likely intended to differentiate it from the last two Early Access versions of the game, both of which suffered from delays.

The venerable Sims was originally announced in March 2023 and would go into Early Access in mid-September of that year, but was eventually pushed back to March 2024 at the end of July. Then in early February this year, the March date was pushed back to June 4. Both of these delay announcements came about five or six weeks before their scheduled release, and oh look, that’s exactly where we are now! So it seems that Paradox Tectonic just wants to reiterate that after the last few spells of rain, we should be seriously clearing that date on our calendars.
Life by You is directed by Rod Humble, former executive producer of The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. The open-world game clearly borrows heavily from the latter – considered by many fans to be the pinnacle of The Sims series – but with a greater emphasis on player customization. It’s eagerly awaited by fans of EA’s life-simulation juggernaut, many of whom are hoping to see the hitherto undisputed blockbuster of its genre get a hold of it as it approaches the quarter-century anniversary of its absolute dominance. A certain amount of healthy competition.
If you count yourself among them, you’re in luck. On the same day that Life by You reiterated its release plans, Krafton, the Korean studio behind PUBG, announced that its Sims rival inZOI also plans to launch an Early Access version “in late 2024.” In a market so far defined by the U.S.-centric life sim genre, inZOI is definitely one to keep an eye on – and between it, LbY (Paralives’ 2025 Early Access window) and Project Rene (aka The Sims 》) is progressing quickly, and 2024-5 will indeed be a fruitful few years for life simulation fans.
