Hellraiser 2 is now facing a series of negative reviews on Steam after Sony announced that linking a Steam account to a PSN account will become mandatory to play the game. Apparently, a large number of PC gamers (i.e. those affected by this) didn’t like this approach, so there was a backlash.
In case you weren’t aware, Sony said in the announcement that it’s ending a “grace period” during which not linking the two accounts was optional due to some technical issues at launch. The new game status is this: “Beginning May 6th, all new Helldivers 2 players on Steam will need to connect their Steam account to a PlayStation Network account. Existing players on Steam will be required to do so on May 30th Forced login begins, and Steam and PlayStation Network accounts need to be linked before June 4th.”

The exact reasons these people oppose the change vary, with some worried about the impact it might have on players in regions where PSN doesn’t operate, many worried about giving Sony access to their data, and many just don’t want to have to go through the sudden The tedious process of setting up another account to access a game they’ve been playing for a while.
Regarding the first question, Arrowhead community manager Twinbeard told concerned players on the game’s official Discord server that the studio is still chasing Sony representatives to get more information on what this change means for people in places without access to PlayStation Network What. .
While that’s obviously dominating the Helldivers news cycle right now, just in case you missed it, a new Warbond for the game – Polar Patriots – was announced yesterday.
