Over the past few months, there has been a lot of talk about One UI 6.1, the next big update to the Samsung Galaxy’s customization layer in which AI plays a leading role. As we already mentioned earlier, users of other business phones will also be able to enjoy the benefits of the update, since One UI 6.1 will be available on a large number of Samsung phones.

In fact, just yesterday we commented that the Samsung Galaxy S22 was starting to receive the update to One UI 6.1 in some territories before spreading to the rest of the world. Everything seems to indicate that S22 users will have to wait a little longer to update, since Samsung reportedly temporarily removed the update because of a bug which affects the operation of the device.

Some users are experiencing screen issues after updating

Apparently, an unknown number of users are experiencing issues after installing One UI 6.1 on the Galaxy S22. Specifically, Galaxy S22 lock screen stops working and the touch screen does not respond correctly after installing the update, forcing you to perform a factory reset to fix the issues.

One UI 6.1 is now coming to these Samsung Galaxy: all phones that update with Galaxy AI

As we can see in a message published on the Samsung community forums, everything seems to indicate that the update is no longer available for Galaxy S22 owners residing in South Korea, the only region in the world where the update is available for these devices.

At the moment there is not much information on this, so we will have to wait and see if Samsung releases a statement. In any case, the fact that the company pulled the update will prevent the issue from affecting more users interested in updating to the most recent version of One UI.

As we already mentioned, the update was only available to users residing in South Korea. However, it never hurts to remember that given the risk that the mobile phone no longer works as it should, our recommendation is to wait before updating it.
