Manor Lords is available in Early Access for a short time and has already received numerous mods. And not all of them are as serious as you might think.
Since its release in Early Access last month, the medieval building strategy game Manor Lords’ community has already added some original elements, to say the least. Thanks to the talents of passionate modders, iconic characters from pop culture such as Shrek from DreamWorks and Geralt of Rivia, the famous sorcerer from The Witcher saga, have been integrated into the game.
Manor Lords is already a victim of WTF mods
The Shrek mod created by user NorskPL allows players to replace the character playable in third-person mode with the famous green ogre. An image shared by One Proud Bavarian on X shows Shrek in action in the game, running through a village of Manor Lords as the villagers around him run away screaming. The addition of this character seems to fit the game’s universe surprisingly well.
As for Geralt, his introduction to the Manor Lords universe by the same modder reinforces the medieval and fantastical side of the game. The presence of the white-haired monster hunter adds a narrative and aesthetic dimension consistent with the atmosphere of the title. Perfect for fans. These changes are just examples of how gaming communities can enrich the gaming experience by integrating elements from different works.
Aside from these imaginative mods, Manor Lords also offers much more realistic mods as you can see on the famous NexusMods page. We find in particular Life cycle assessmentwhich, as the name suggests, completely rebalances the game’s economy.
