I’m going on my holibob this weekend, so truth be told I probably won’t be playing much; a good book will do for me while lying by the pool.
Still, I’ll jump into Animal Well as much as I can before I leave. I’m not very far into it yet, but I can certainly see why it’s so well regarded. I can’t wait to dive into it properly upon my return!

I’m finishing up this weekend Baldur’s Gate with a friend from Canada after many months of playing. It’s been an epic ride, but now I’m more than ready to put the game behind me.
Animal Well was also taking my time, so I will try to find more secrets of the game, because there are so many.

The ongoing conquest efforts in Unicorn Overlord continue, as if the game just refuses to finish despite the steady process of the past few weekends. The charming edition of Little Kitty, Big City is just another stark reminder that I should have let a house cat adopt me decades ago. I also really want to finish Sclash story mode. While the simple gameplay premise has already been done elsewhere, this game is so exceptionally executed in the art department. It’s a shame I don’t have any friends to play this in local vs mode.
I game of the week is Animal Well. If you come across anyone who says “Oh, here we go, another indie metroidvania with an 8-bit pixel aesthetic…” feel free to throw this masterpiece in their face. Plus it probably delivers the best in-game firecrackers ever programmed in the history of video games!

I’m still on the Stardew Valley-with-mods game. I’m kind of in a mental slump and I don’t need anything too taxing; I just want to turn off my brain and let the growing of crops take over me. I pair it with a rewatch Breaking Bad, for some reason. It’s a weird vibe and kind of makes me feel like I’m growing very different types of crops, but it’s amazing!
I do have a few games on my list from last week though! It was good to eat for an indie. I’m procrastinating Hades 2 until full launch because I don’t like playing EA games — I want the finished product, although I hear H2 is already very polished. Also, Animal Well, which sounds great, and Land of Crows, the excellent people who made Tangle Tower. But first I have to get over my mental breakdown. Wish me luck!
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Take the following poll with the game you’ll be running over the next few days, then slide into the comments to tell us what other titles are on the cards.
