Slavic Magic has released an experimental patch for Manor Lords that contains a ton of fixes, new gameplay mechanics, and a few upgrades.
The patch addresses some of the more common issues such as Hildebolt’s claim rate, “none” people spawning in large numbers and refusing to do any work, trade post congestion, weak archer damage, ineffective saw pits, and market supply efficiency low.
It also fixes issues with the game getting stuck on the summary screen after victory or game over, some issues with big city optimization, issues with winter crop erasure, overly harsh over- and under-supply systems, and homeless people and livestock. Problem despite having enough living space and excessive beer consumption – this can also be a problem in a pub in real life.
There are other game mechanics included in the patch as well. Now, whenever a person dies, a 30-day mourning period stunts growth. This can be previewed in the Burgage Plot’s Architecture panel or by pressing the TAB key. Moving corpses now also have a visual representation.
The “Annual Royal Tax” or “King’s Tax” mechanism was re-implemented. The tax was collected annually from the treasury and paid to the king. It’s calculated on a per-resident basis and should theoretically penalize poor workplace optimization slightly, making it harder to hoard large amounts of cash.
New upgraded follower armor changes have been added, the large granary building has been redesigned so that the doors activate correctly, and the Saint Maurice unit patron has been added.
