Paraguayan studio Waraní Studios brings its horror offering to the new generation of Xbox.

In the world of triple-A horror franchises, Resident Evil is usually one of the first that comes to mind. However, in recent years we have had some very good horror productions from smaller studios.. One of these titles is The Origin: Blind Maid, a game launched in July 2021 on PC and which has now also reached Xbox Series consoles, with several improvements that were not in the original version for PC.

The story and gameplay mechanics remain the same as in this 2021 title. These revolve around a. corrupt politician who is on the run from justice but unknowingly heads to a region haunted by ancient and horrible legends

in the first games of the franchise. When you find yourself with nothing, all you have to do is run away, even if it’s also frustrating, because you can imagine wanting to grab whatever you can find to get out of trouble, but here It is not possible.

There is also an interesting character progression and item creation system, some of which improve your stamina (which is appreciated, since our protagonist tires very quickly at first), while others provide temporary advantages and abilities. You will also notice that some parts of the environment may change, which sometimes gives the atmosphere a Blair Witch feelespecially when an ancient evil manifests itself in trees and creatures.

Conclusions

Although The Origin: Blind Maid sounds good on paper, it also has its downsides. Even after improvement, The walking speed is frustratingly slow, the menus are a bit chaotic, and mechanics like stealth and combat aren’t implemented very well.
