Assassin’s Creed: Shadows: Name for Red is available, trailer is coming and more information leaked

Ubisoft has confirmed the name of the title previously known as Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red and announced a trailer for this week. However, initial information was already made public in advance.

Ubisoft has nailed it when it comes to the final name of the new Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red, which will reportedly be available this year. The game will be called Assassin’s Creed: Shadows and will initially be shown in a premiere trailer that will be shown later this week.

Assassin’s Creed fans can pull out their calendar and mark May 15th red. On Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. German time the time will come and the first cinematic trailer for the new title will be presented. According to previous reports, a full presentation with plenty of gameplay will most likely take place at Ubisoft Forward, which is scheduled to take place on June 10th on the occasion of the Summer Games Fest. An embargo for the first previews of the title is expected to fall on June 12th and enable advance reports to be published online.

Even before the new action game was first introduced, a data miner named @Ubisoft_Frax leaked further details online. Accordingly, Ubisoft will plan at least two expansions for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows after the actual release, each of which will cost $25; Alternatively, you can get both as part of a season pass for $40.

The in-game currency Helix will play a role in the title, with which in-game items can be purchased. According to the data miner, the price structure should look like this:

• 500 Helix – 5 Euro/Dollar
• 1050 Helix – 10 Euro/Dollar
• 2300 Helix – 20 Euro/Dollar
• 4200 Helix – 35 Euro/Dollar
• 6600 Helix – 50 Euro/Dollar

How exactly the use of this currency will work remains to be seen. It is possible that this will be used in the central Assassin’s Creed hub called Infinity. Insider Gaming received leaked images showing cosmetic items that can be purchased with this currency, but can also be unlocked by playing.

And: It is also becoming apparent that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is ushering in a new era for the franchise, as for the first time there will no longer be a release for last-gen consoles. There are several reports in this regard, including from well-known insider Shinobi602, according to which there will no longer be an implementation for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Previous statements from Ubisoft since 2022 suggested that this would happen. Finally, it was emphasized that the new titles starting with Red (now Shadows) will be created for the current generation of consoles.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is set in feudal Japan and will presumably feature two playable characters; one of them will be the samurai Yasuke, who is based on a real person.
