After the Arctis Nova was well received as a multiplatform headset in the high-end range, SteelSeries is now launching the Arctis Nova 5, a more moderately priced model with a few extras.
With the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5, the well-known manufacturer wants to once again shake up the area of multiplatform headsets and is doing so with the motto “affordable luxury”. For an affordable price of 139.99 dollars, the headset should offer all the important features that you would otherwise find in high-end headsets.
The Arctis Nova 5 can be used wirelessly on PC, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. The headset offers both BlueTooth 5.3 and 2.4 GHz wireless, as well as a quick switch function between the two modes. The battery life should be a whopping 60 hours, including quick charging function.
The headset uses specially developed neodymium magnetic drivers – we will hopefully soon find out from a test sample whether they can produce the typically clear SteelSeries sound. SteelSeries’ ClearCast microphone features a new high-bandwidth chipset that supports 32KHz/16Bit audio to keep communications crystal clear and clear. There is also AI-powered noise cancellation from Sonar. The Sonar Audio Software Suite is available free of charge.
What’s exciting is that SteelSeries is releasing a new Nova 5 companion app for free at the same time. The app includes over 100 game-specific audio presets created by sound engineers, esports professionals and game developers and tailored to each game. Thanks to the BlueTooth connection to the app, the presets can be changed at any time without having to leave the game.
According to the list, the presets include numerous multiplayer classics such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, several Call of Duty, Counter-Strike 2 as well as several single-player titles such as Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate III, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage and many more.
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 is now available in stores and in the SteelSeries store.
