Thousands of players flocked to Hades 2 when it released on PC on May 6th. The feedback is excellent, but the studio already has areas of improvement for the first update.
Hades 2 was what we call a “shadow drop.” A game with no release date, launched by the developers without warning. The sequel to the roguelike from Supergiant Games is therefore available in Early Access on Steam and in the Epic Games Store at a price of $28.99. And despite the early access status, the teams didn’t do anything by halves as the title is already gigantic. This promises the final version, which will contain all relevant feedback from the community.
Hades 2 first patch details
To say Hades 2 was highly anticipated is an understatement. After the success of Hades, roguelike fans and even those unfamiliar with the genre were eager to get their hands on it. Now it’s possible and the game seems to deliver what it promises. But like all early access titles, the software needs to be monitored and Supergiant Games has already started rolling out small fixes to address crashes or progression errors. Like everyday life!
To avoid navigating in the dark, the developers rely on the Hades 2 community. To keep things moving in the right direction, teams welcome all feedback, regardless of how it is shared. If you think something needs to be revised, please make your voice heard. A roadmap for this sequel has already been created and a first patch will be available later this month. This update will contain short-term improvements on two topics in particular.
First, Supergiant Games wants resource acquisition to be smooth and not frustrating. “We don’t want resource gathering to become too frustrating if, for example, you don’t have the right tools with you.” explains the studio Hades 2. There will also be something new when it comes to travel. The developers’ next focus will be on making Melinoë even more agile and responsive, which will involve changes to his dash and sprint. Patch notes will arrive in due course, but Supergiant is ruling out a rebalancing in this first Hades 2 update for now.
