Google has already released the first public beta of Android 15. However, there were hardly any new features included. At its Google I/O developer conference, the company is now giving a detailed look at the successor to Android 14. AI will be the focus here.
Specifically, Google has four features at Google I/O announced. The image-based search function Circle to Search is to be expanded. So far it is available on 100 million cell phones worldwide and is expected to find its way to up to 200 million devices by the end of the year. In addition, Google expands the possibility to understand math and physics tasks and to support you here if you don’t understand something. Later, Circle to Search should also be able to understand formulas, diagrams and graphics.
Circle to Search and Gemini will become an integral part of Android
With Android 15, the Gemini artificial intelligence replaces the Google Assistant on your cell phone. You can feed the tool with images, videos or documents and ask your questions about them. According to Google, the processing takes place entirely on your smartphone. Gemini should also enable better audio feedback for people with impaired vision and warn you in real time about spam calls. To do this, the AI analyzes ongoing phone calls.
