Dead Island 2 returns with its second DLC, which immerses us in a music festival full of zombies to destroy
After almost a decade in development, Dead Island 2 was released just a year ago. The game, to the surprise of many, turned out to be really good and achieved great success. NOW, Thanks to SoLA, the second DLC of the video game, we immerse ourselves again in the world of Los Diablos, this time in a new location, a music festival full of zombies. Will this second expansion of Dead Island 2 live up to expectations? Here at the Xbox Community we tell you everything.
Music that zombies
SoLA offers us a totally original story that expands the history of the universe created by Techland and now expanded by Dambuster in this second part. The DLC begins with our character’s arrival at a music festival infested with zombies to the gills. In it we will meet different characters with typical Z movie humor. While talking with these characters, they tell us that some speakers play strange music that seems to turn people into the living dead. With this particular context begins a simple story, but full of doses of humor that will delight fans of films and series about the living dead.
New weapons and enemies
SoLA does not revolutionize the playable formula of the base game. Everything is still maintained as it was, both for the better (system of collisions and dismemberments, pleasure) and for the worse (repetition). Dambuster hasn’t hesitated to add new content, both new enemies (flabber and coagulator) and weapons (ripper and saw thrower).. Please note that this DLC will not make our task easier. It is recommended to have completed the main story before playing SoLA, or at least to have a good level in your character, since the enemies are quite tough, especially the final boss…
Sun and party in hell itself
Dead Island 2 is a game that leaves you speechless looking at its graphics and technical section. These scenarios which border on photorealism, the scenario design, the enemies… everything is at an exceptional level, and that was not going to change in this second expansion. The SoLA festival is very beautiful, even if it is infested with zombies. Its design is remarkable, as are the new enemies introduced for the occasion.. Technically, everything is going well. During my 5 hours of playtime, I didn’t witness any bugs, frame drops, or anything like that, which is admirable in the times we find ourselves in. The music introduced for the occasion (we are in a rave) is very good and generates very funny situations with the zombies.
Conclusions
SoLA is a very interesting DLC for Dead Island 2. The new location introduced is very fun and very well designed. It is true that it does not bring too many new features for its price ($14.99). But it’s more and better in every rule. The plot is fun, the situations it presents are fun, everything is fun, and that’s the most important thing in a video game. If you’ve purchased its season pass or want to slay more undead, SoLA is a great option, especially if you have friends to help you on your adventure.
